مجلّد
Mujallad is Arabic for a bound volume, a book. We chose the name because we think of clothing the way a library thinks of its shelves: one idea at a time, collected in numbered volumes.
The idea
Mujallad is a small design house. Each volume takes a theme from history, faith or knowledge and gives each part of it an illustrated plate, in the style of old manuscript engravings. You'll find ornate borders, warm light and small details you only notice up close. The plate goes on the back of the hoodie. The front stays quiet, with a small Mujallad crest.
Volume I: Arkan al-Deen
Our first volume is Arkan al-Deen (الأركان), the five foundations of the faith: the Testimony, the Prayer, the Fasting, the Charity and the Pilgrimage. Each has its own plate and its own hoodie, numbered Plate 01 to Plate 05.
How we make it
Every plate is illustrated digitally and printed on a soft midweight hoodie. Each piece is printed to order after you buy it, so we don't hold stock we can't sell.
Made with care
The plates include Arabic text and religious symbols, and we check them carefully. If you ever spot a mistake, please contact us and we will fix it.
